The Estérel massif, with its red porphyry cliffs plunging into the Mediterranean, offers a dramatic and wild setting. Atelier Nérée designs villas that merge with this powerful nature.
In brief
In the Estérel, Atelier Nérée supports contemporary villa projects in dialogue with the red rock, terrain, Mediterranean vegetation and sea views. The studio works on siting, ground anchorage, light and materials, in keeping with a sensitive natural site. Each project is led from the feasibility study to architectural supervision, with planning application, consideration of risks (fire, erosion), regulatory constraints and a landscape integration respectful of the massif.
In the Estérel, red rock, steep terrain, Mediterranean vegetation and risks (fire, erosion) require a rooted, durable architectural response. Siting, orientation and material choice are structural.
Atelier Nérée works on contemporary villas, renovations of existing villas, extensions, interior restructurings, opening to the sea view, terraces, swimming pools, guest houses and the enhancement of prestige properties.
Each project starts with a site study and a regulatory analysis (PLU, coastal law, protected perimeters). Sketch, preliminary project, planning application or prior declaration, contractor consultation and architectural supervision through to completion follow.
The project works with natural light and shade, natural ventilation, stone, mineral renders, wood and concrete. Spaces are designed in continuity with the Mediterranean garden, for lasting landscape integration.
Each project in the Estérel is designed in dialogue with the massif, its constraints and its landscape.
The Estérel demands architecture of humility and strength. Red rocks, turquoise sea, pine and cork oak forests compose a landscape unique in Europe. We use site materials — local stone, solid wood, Corten steel — to create homes in osmosis with this mineral and maritime landscape. Each villa is sculpted into the terrain.
Contemporary villas integrated into red rock. Properties overlooking the Estérel calanques. Residences between pine forest and turquoise sea. Private estates on the edge of the massif, between Théoule-sur-Mer and Saint-Raphaël.
The Estérel is a wild and protected territory requiring specific expertise. The study checks applicable protections, risks, terrain and access before comparing options. Procedures and studies are defined for the parcel and commission.
Summary
Atelier Nérée designs luxury villas in the Estérel massif, French Riviera. Architecture integrated into red rock, between sea and forest. Materials: local stone, wood, Corten steel, raw concrete. Expertise in protected zones (Natura 2000, Coastal Law). Projects from Théoule-sur-Mer to Saint-Raphaël.
Buildability depends on each parcel: PLU/PLUi, easements, risks, protections and coastal provisions must be cross-checked. Natura 2000 status alone does not establish feasibility; a preliminary study identifies necessary checks.
Red porphyry stone, pine wood, Corten steel and raw concrete are the preferred materials. They naturally dialogue with the mineral and vegetal tones of the massif.
We work from Théoule-sur-Mer to Saint-Raphaël, including Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Agay and the heights of the massif. Each site offers unique landscape character.
